Nisshoku prospered during many years until Kaiho, an army formed by those who suffered the yoke of Nisshoku, attacked Kyuryu (host city of Nisshoku) and won the battle. Thanks to the powerful Yamiko and the tactical knowledge of Hyo, her mentor and counselor, Nisshoku took over the Valley of Rashomon – the land where Aragami (2016) is set – and defended it relentlessly, getting rid of any potential menace. Yamiko was the empress of Nisshoku, a small sectarian empire whose integrants – the Shadow adepts – venerate her as a goddess.
Twin Shadow: Shinobu will aim and mark at the enemy, and she'll call Hyo to kill the marked target at any moment.Aragami 2 is set 100 years after the events of Aragami (2016) and, although this sequel is not continuist, it is likely that we find some references to the original game throughout the journey. Shinobu's variation involves throwing a kunai at the enemy, with it eventually exploding once another enemy or two spots their dead comrade. Explosive Kunai: A technique that summons a kunai made up of shadows, capable of being rendered completely silent. Kage: A technique that renders Shinobu invisible for a few seconds and completely dampen her sounds while active. *Note: when a grenade is thrown, it won't explode in a huge impact, just like the Explosive Kunai. Shadow Grenade: Shinobu will throw a grenade at one enemy (or a group of enemies) that blinds them in the blast radius. Hyo's beast resembles that of a black panther. Shadow Kill: A technique that summons a beast to erase a target from the physical realm and recovers a rune from a equipped Shadow technique. 
Shadow Creation: A technique used to cast a path of shadows to move around his enviroment unnoticed to leap to previously lit surfaces with shadow leap. Shadow Leap: A technique that allows Hyo to move instantly by leaping into shadows. Master Assassin: Shinobu is noted to be a master field operative and is capable in the art of stealth and assassinating her enemies. Fire essence: Shinobu is capable of using fire essence. She was only capable of temporarily soothing Hyo's infection. Life essence: Shinobu self-taught herself the usage of life essence. Shadow essence: A shadow assassin, Shinobu is capable of manipulating shadow essence. Vital essence: A shadow assassin, Shinobu is capable of using several types of vital essence.
